Thomas Vaughn Vlas of Benton, Louisiana, died after a valiant fight with cancer on September 21, 2021. He lived 72 years, starting out in Hesperia, Michigan. He graduated from Hesperia High School, and attended Muskegon Business College until he enlisted in the United States Air Force. During his five years, he served at Selfridge AFB; Izmir, Turkey; and the Pentagon. He worked 25 years at the Battle Creek Federal Center. He is survived by his wife, Theresa; daughter, Jenna (Jamey); grandson, Caleb; brothers: Dan, Brian, & Norman; and sisters, Donita and Brenda. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Donald and Vivian; and by his twin, Vaughn. After retirement, he moved south to enjoy the warm weather. He loved to travel, play golf, fish and woodworking. A Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, October 1, 2021 at West Hesperia Cemetery.
