Virginia “Jean” Bisel, age 67, passed away on April 8, 2026, peacefully at her home in Newaygo, Michigan.
Jean was the beloved wife of Don Bisel, with whom she shared 37 years of marriage. She was the mother of Holly (Luke) Larsen, Steven Klapperich, and Donnie Bisel, and grandmother to Angela Jean Klapperich, Reece Klapperich, and Cole Larsen. She is also survived by her mother, Patricia Holly, her brothers David (Christine) Holly and Scott Holly, and many nieces and nephews.
Jean was unapologetically her own person—witty, quick with a laugh, and endlessly fun to be around. She had a way of making people feel welcome and valued. Time spent with Jean was never dull, and her presence will be deeply missed.
She was a talented, self-taught quilter, creating the most beautiful and intricate pieces. Each quilt reflected her creativity, patience, and love, and they will continue to warm the homes and hearts of her family.
Jean had a gift for making Christmas truly special. Holiday traditions mattered deeply to her, and even as adults, her children would spend Christmas Eve staying overnight with Jean and Don—a tradition filled with love, togetherness, and memories that will be treasured forever.
Above all, Jean was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. Her legacy lives on through her family, her handmade creations, and the many lives she touched simply by being herself.
