Wayne R. Zuidema, age 73 of Fremont, is safely in the arms of Jesus and went to his heavenly home on Monday evening, December 29, 2025. He was born on October 10, 1952 in Muskegon, Michigan to Ronald and Ardyce (Decker) Zuidema. Wayne had been employed for 42 years by Lake Welding Supply Company in Muskegon starting at the age of 20 until his retirement in 2014. He was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont for most of his life where he served as an Elder, Deacon, and Cadet Counselor. Wayne was a Christ follower, devoted husband and dad. He was kind, compassionate, hardworking and a friend to all who knew him. In Arizona he was an avid pickleball player and enjoyed volunteering and playing ping pong. On October 27, 1972 he married his high school sweetheart, Angelyn B. deKryger who lovingly survives him of 53 years of marriage along with one son, Trevor (Mary) Zuidema of Grand Rapids, one daughter, Crystal (Joshua) Hollander of Littleton, Colorado, five grandchildren, Simone, Xander and Blake Zuidema and Zoe and Micah Hollander, his mom Ardyce Zuidema of Muskegon, sister Cindy (Edward) Kendall of Muskegon, and sister Rhonda (Dave) Hoekenga of Lindenhurst, Illinois along with many nieces & nephews. Wayne was preceded in death by his dad, Ronald Zuidema. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 3, 2026 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Kent Rottman officiating, and will be livestreamed at youtube.com/@secondchurch-fremont/streams. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11 AM on Saturday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont. In lieu of flowers, you are asked to consider contributions to Western Michigan Christian High School or to the Fremont Area Community Foundation for the Fremont Christian School Endowment Fund.
