William (Bill) Boike, age 79, of Fremont, went to our Lord on Tuesday, September 9, 2025. He was born on March 4, 1946, in Chicago, Il to Chester and Francis Boike. When Bill was young the family moved to Holton, MI where he grew up and eventually met the love of his life, Kay whom he married October 9,1965.
Bill spent his life working as a Specialty Hauler for Erickson’s Crane. After “retirement,” he worked at MPH Logistics, spending time with family and making new friends. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who found joy in fishing, hunting, and watching baseball. Bill was deeply dedicated to his wife and boys and loved being with them no matter what the activity. He would drop everything to lend a hand—whether traveling to Alabama to work with Ryan or tackling odd jobs around the house with Bill. Some of his happiest moments were spent with his sons and grandson, enjoying Spartan football games, cheering for the Tigers, or watching Austin work at Whitecaps games.
Bill is survived by two sons: Bill (Kristin) Boike of Fremont and Ryan (Crystal) Boike of Twin Lake; grandson, Austin Boike; sisters- in-law: Shirley Bennett, Marjorie (Donald) Redder, and Fran (Gary) Derks; Ruth Deuling and Ann Boike; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kay; his brother, Randy Boike; his sister Arlene Deuling, his sisters-in-law Barb Salisbury, and Marlene Gilliland; his brothers-in-law, Allen Deuling, and Don Deuling; and other loved ones who welcomed him home to the Lord.
According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A time of visiting with the family will be Saturday October 4th, 2025, at 10:00 am with a Memorial Mass at 11:00 am at St. Michaels Catholic Church in Brunswick, Fr. Pete Schafer officiating. This will be followed by a short graveside service and full military honors. A luncheon and time to visit with the family will immediately follow in the church fellowship hall.
