Mr. William Lummen, age 96 of Fremont, left his earthly home for his Heavenly Home on Monday morning, January 21, 2019. He was born on September 3, 1922 in Fremont, Michigan to Fred & Kate (VanPutten) Lummen. Bill was a US Army Veteran of World War II, and he was a member of First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. He had been a company driver for Gerber Products Company for 46 years until his retirement in 1988, and he had been a volunteer fireman for the Fremont Fire Department for 25 years. Bill also enjoyed playing golf. On June 25, 1946 he married Mary E. Kidner and she preceded him in death on March 17, 2009. Survivors include 3 children: Marilyn Jean Lummen of White Cloud, Robert J. "RJ" Lummen of Fremont, Jayne (Peter) Brosonski of Toms River, New Jersey; 6 grandchildren: Shannon (Lee) Sutton, Missy Lummen, Jessica (Chad) Mason, Adam Charles Brosonski, David (Joanna) Brosonski, Peter (Danielle) Brosonski; 4 great grandchildren: Carter & Ella Mason, Brielle & Jackson Brosonski; and many nieces & nephews. Bill was preceded in death by his son, Marvin Eugene Lummen; by his granddaughter, Tabitha Jo Lummen; by his sisters, Jeanette Platt & Gertrude Breuker; and by his brothers: Henry, Adrian, Gerald, & Lester Lummen. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 28, 2019 at First Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Drew Sweetman officiating. Visitation will be at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home from 4-7 PM on Sunday, and at the church from 10-11 AM on Monday. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
