William "Bill" Jay Derks

William "Bill" Jay Derks, age 77 of Newaygo, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, June 28, 2024 at his home.  He was born on May 9, 1947 in Fremont, Michigan to Henry & Gertrude (Vredeveld) Derks.  Bill was an excellent cabinet maker, and he worked in construction most of his life.  He liked tractors, motorcycles, and flying RC airplanes.  He is survived by 3 children:  Vicki Derks, Rebecca "Becky" Derks, William "Bill" Derks; 2 sisters, Nancy Robinson & Linda (Michael) Deur; brother-in-law, Robert Smith; and by many nieces & nephews.  Bill was preceded in death by his daughter, Heidi Rehmann; by his parents, Henry & Gertrude Derks; by his brothers:  Max Derks, Raymond Derks, & Gerald "Jerry" Derks, Sr.; and by his sisters:  Carol Siersema, Arlene Plaisier, & Marian Smith.  There will be no visitation or service at this time.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
