William "Bill" Jannenga

William “Bill” Jannenga, age 83 of Fremont, passed away on Friday afternoon, May 1, 2026 at Regency at Fremont.  He was born on May 25, 1942 in Muskegon, Michigan to Leo Charles & Dorothy Agnes (St John) Jannenga.

Bill had been a real estate agent, broker, and appraiser as well as having worked in various other sales positions.  He was a member of Church of the Living Christ in Fremont.  Bill enjoyed traveling, especially on cruises, and he liked playing cards, bowling, and golfing.

On August 30, 1963 he married Ruth Ann Bush and she survives him along with his only son, William “Will” Jannenga, Jr. of Kalamazoo; 2 grandchildren:  Zachary (Kayti) Jannenga, Emily (Troy) Nagelkirk; 4 great-granddaughters:  Bella & Poppy Jannenga, Sloane & Bristol Nagelkirk; and by his former daughter-in-law, Michelle Jannenga.  He is also survived by his brothers & sisters:  Betty Collick, George Rogers, Mary (Bill) Brown, John (Paula) Rogers; sister-in-law, Nancy Rottschafer; brother-in-law, Don (Sue) Bush; and by many nieces & nephews.  Bill was preceded in death by his fathers, Leo Jannenga and Otis Rogers; mother, Dorothy Jannenga Rogers; brother, Leslie “David” Jannenga; sisters:  Beverly Jannenga and Shirley Greiffendorf; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ray and Margaret Bush; and by his brothers-in-law, Bill Bush and Jim Rottschafer. 

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to all of the staff at The Regency at Fremont for the wonderful care that they provided during his last few months.     

According to Bill’s wishes cremation has taken place, and there will be a time of visiting with the family from 10-11 AM on Thursday, May 28, 2026 at Church of the Living Christ in Fremont.  A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 11:00 AM on Thursday with Pastor Tom Jasperse officiating, and a luncheon will follow the service at church.  Suggested Memorial:  Church of the Living Christ.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
