William “Bill” David Stroven, age 84 of Fremont, went Home to be with his Lord Jesus Christ late Wednesday evening, January 15, 2025 at his home. He was born on August 9, 1940 in Fremont, Michigan to George W. & Mary Elizabeth (Harris) Stroven. Bill had been a dairy farmer for about 70 years, and he had a gentle and patient way with his dairy cattle. Bill’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family. He was also a longtime member of First Reformed Church in Fremont. On August 11, 1973 he married Diane Kay Miedema and she survives him along with 4 sons & 6 grandchildren: Luke (Cynthia) Stroven & their children Logan (fiancée Julia Cole) Stroven and Camryn Stroven; Nathan (Staci) Stroven & their children Kole and Wyatt Stroven; William “Bill” Stroven, Jr.; Andrew (Krista) Stroven & their children David and Jenna Stroven. Bill is also survived by his brothers & sister: Kenneth Stroven, Mary (Richard) Tubergen, George (Barbara) Stroven, Jr., Richard (Rosalie) Stroven, John Stroven; brother James Stroven’s companion Linda Ward; sister-in-law, Yvonne Reeder; and by many nieces & nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, George W. & Mary Elizabeth Stroven; brother & his wife, Jerry & Colleen Stroven; brother, James Stroven; sister, Marguerite “Margaret” Stroven; sister-in-law, Jean “Jeannie” Stroven; and by his brothers-in-law, Kelly Miedema & David Reeder. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, January 21, 2025 at First Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Joel Zuidema officiating. Interment will be in Sherman Township Cemetery. Visitation will also be at the church from 10-11:30 AM on Tuesday. Suggested Memorials: First Reformed Church, or Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child.
