Mrs. Winifred "Win" (Deur) Kolk, age 96 of Fremont, went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Monday evening, January 25, 2021. Win was a woman who was positive, loving, and generous. Her hands were never idle. She was a mom who sought to raise her family in a godly way.
She was born on March 2, 1924 in Fremont, Michigan to Ben and Maggie (VanGoor) Rottman. Win was a member of Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont. On June 18, 1948 she married Robert Deur and together they owned Deur Egg Farm in Fremont. Robert preceded her in death on June 30, 1976. She strongly resolved to continue running the farm with her son Dave. On June 4, 1988 she married Harold Kolk and he preceded her in death on May 24, 2020.
She was also preceded in death by her grandson, Kent Deur; brother, Arthur Rottman; and sisters: Helene Luchies, Marie Tubergen, Josephine Oosterhouse, & Gertrude Haveman. Win is survived by her children: Vonda (Tom) Brasser, Dave (Sharon) Deur, and Tom (Robin) Deur. Win is also survived by Harold’s children: Gerald (Maryellen) Kolk, Randall (Michael Cresa) Kolk; and by his daughter-in-law, Christie Kolk. Harold’s son, Mark Kolk, also preceded her in death. Win is also survived by 16 grandchildren & 14 great grandchildren; by her sister, Net Vredeveld; sister-in-law, Lois Rottman Day; and by several nieces & nephews. A celebration of Win’s life will take place at 11:30 AM on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at Second Christian Reformed Church in Fremont with Pastor Doug MacLeod officiating. A recording of the service will also be available to watch on the funeral home website. Interment was made prior to the service at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.
