Mrs. Esther Pearl VanBlargan, age 73 years of Twin Lake, passed away unexpectedly on Monday evening, April 3, 2017 at Mercy Hospital in Muskegon. She was born on August 9, 1943 in Muskegon, Michigan to Edward & Pearl (Larabee) Buckhout. Esther received her Associates Degree in Childhood Development from Baker College in Muskegon, and she had been a teacher for the Reeths Puffer Head Start Program. After teaching, she worked at the family business, Just Klassics Roadside Deli. Esther loved carousel horses and the Detroit Red Wings. On August 15, 1959 she married William W. VanBlargan and he survives her along with 2 children: Rhonda (Joe) Duram, Woody (Dawn) VanBlargan; 6 grandchildren & 2 great grandchildren, and she was a grandmother to many others; sisters: Bonnie Powers, Judy Parker, Char (Brian) Crysler; brothers: Mike Buckhout, Glen (Robin) Buckhout, Richard (Jeanette) Buckhout; sisters-in-law, Gloria Walsh & Darlene VanBlargan; brother-in-law, James (Carol) VanBlargan; and many nieces & nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Edward Buckhout; and by her brothers-in-law: Junior, Clayton, & David VanBlargan. The Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, April 7, 2017 at First Christian Church in Muskegon (2755 Holton Road) with Pastor Mark Dolle officiating. Visitation will also be at the church from 1-2 PM on Friday. Interment will be in East Dalton Oakhill Cemetery. Suggested Memorial: www.gofundme.com/esthervanblargan to help with expenses.
