Karen A. (Peters) Gerdes

Mrs. Karen A. Gerdes, age 79 years of Greenville, passed away on Wednesday morning, March 22, 2017 at her home.  She was born on January 18, 1938 in Fremont, Michigan to Carl & Marian (Dykman) Peters.  Karen started her career as a nurse, and then found her love for teaching, which she did until she began to raise her family  She married Raymond Gerdes in 1966 and he survives her along with 2 children:  Julia of Royal Oak, MI., and Gregory & his wife Shannon of Grand Rapids, MI.; 1 sister, Carol Peters-Manning of Empire, MI.; 1 brother, Richard & his wife Sally Peters of Ypsilanti, MI.; several brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law; and many nieces & nephews.  Karen was preceded in death by her parents.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 AM on Tuesday, March 28, 2017 at the Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home with David Gerdes officiating.  There will also be a time of visiting with the family at the Funeral Home from 10:30-11:30 AM on Tuesday.  Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery in Fremont.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Grace Hospice.  You can sign the online guest book at www.kroeze-wolffis.com.  Arrangements are by Kroeze-Wolffis Funeral Home, Inc. of Fremont.
